Buddhist Religious Leaders Visit to Naleemiah Institute
A delegation of Buddhist religious leaders has visited Naleemiah Institute of Islamic Studies today (Monday 2.3.2020).
The delegation included the leaders of four Buddhist temples in Beruwala area
as well as the members of the Local Inter-Religious Committee (LIRC).
The delegation had a well cordial discussion with the academic staff about the functioning of the Institute, its objectives and its academic achievements over the period of four decades.
The delegation felt this form of discussion helped a great deal on removing misunderstandings and wrong perceptions and also a better relationship between the communities.
It was emphasised that this form of meetings should continue even in future and some programmes must be undertaken with the cooperation of Naleemiah Institute to create a better understanding among the communities particularly in Beruwala Area.
