Commemorative Stamp Depicts Jamiah Naleemiah Masjid
Commemorating the National Meeladun Nabi Celebration 2022, the Philatelic Bureau Department of Post issued a postage stamp and a first-day cover at the event held at the Postal Headquarters Auditorium on 14.12.2022.
The postage stamp depicts the Jamiah Naleemiah Masjid and the first day cover depicts the Entrance and the Auditorium of the Jamiah Naleemiah and a brief note on the Late Al-Haj Mohamed Naleem of Chinafort, Beruwala, the founder of the Naleemiah Institute and a very reputable and patriotic Sri Lankan Gem Merchant and Philanthropist.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ali Sabry (P.C.) addressed the gathering as the chief guest and the Secretary of the Ministry of Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs, Mr. Somaratne Vidanapathirana and the Rector of Jamiah Naleemiah, Assheikh A.C.Agar Mohamed were invited for special addresses on the occasion.
In the special address delivered by the Rector of the Naleemiah Institute, he emphasized that Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) taught love and mercy to the entire world. On behalf of the Naleemiah Management, he also expressed his gratitude to the director of the DMRCA, Mr. Ibrahim Ansar for his leadership and fullest support for making the event a success. And a special video documentary on Naleem Hajiyar and Naleemiah Institute was played followed by his speech.
The event organised by the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs (DMRCA) in coordination with the Ministry of Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs and presided by the Director of the DMRCA, Mr. Ibrahim Ansar, was attended by the Minister of Environment Hon. Hafis Naseer, the State Minister of Mass Media, Hon. Shantha Bandara, the State Minister of Rural Economy, Hon. Kader Masthan, Hon. Musharraf Muthunabeen M.P., the Postmaster General, Ranjith Ariyaratne
and other dignitaries.
