74th Independence Day Celebrations at Naleemiah Institute of Islamic Studies
The celebrations to mark the 74th Independence Day were held at 8.30 am today (04/02/2022) at the Naleemiah premises.
The ceremony commenced upon the hoisting of the National Flag by the Deputy Director Ash-sheikh A.C Agar Mohamed while the lecturers, staff and students marked their presence. The event was followed by a special session at the conference hall of the campus.
It is noteworthy that the session included a special address by the Deputy Director. In his address titled ‘Duties towards the motherland as Sri Lankan Citizens’, he emphasised that history proves to be an ample testimony that our ancestors had always been the contributors to the welfare of the nation, and the concept of freedom is one of the main goals that Islam wants to achieve.
The event concluded with a tree planting event at 10.00 am.
